Florence 2 and Rome

We were up really early today and went on a walking tour of Florence. It was raining but we made the best of it and the sights made us forget about our wet shoes. We saw the major things on our walking tour of Florence, our tour guide was really good, and at the end there was a leather making demonstration which was very interesting. Florence is known for its leather products. We didn’t have much time though and so we didn’t get to see all that we wanted. We got a little lost on the way back to the hostel and when we were staying in looking at our maps an Italian man came and gave us a history lesson… in Italian, we caught about 3 words. We finally made our way back to the bus and headed to Rome.

When we got to Rome we had a walking tour, with our fabulous Topdeck tour director, Vicky! She took us to all the major sights of Roma; the Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi fountain, all of it was so cool and so big! I can’t get over how big everything is because they didn’t have the technology we do today and it amazes me that they were able to build such amazing structures. You are walking down a normal city street and all of the sudden there is a huge fountain or might building at the end, its crazy! I think my favorite building was the Pantheon because it is HUGE! The inside is so majestic and… Roman. We also had pizza and gelato at the Trevi fountain, it was delicious! Tomorrow we are spending the morning in Vatican City on a tour and then the rest of the day is ours to explore Rome.
