The Rhine Valley is beautiful! They are known for their wine, Riesling. The vineyards grow literally on the side of the mountains. The towns line the Rhine River which has a really strong tide. The towns are really tiny and getting the bus through was a bit dodgy, but Tom Tom is a skilled bus driver and we finally made it to the top of the hill where our castle was! The castle was really pretty and a cool place to stay. We had dinner down stairs and the trekked down the mountain into town to find a beer garden. We found this tiny little place and I had a glass of really good sweet wine and Catherine got a delicious pretzel. We hung out down there for a while and then trekked back up the mountain. My bum is going to be very toned from all the stair climbing on this trip. We all went to bed early tonight in preparation for some crazy nights ahead in Amsterdam!
