Rome and Vatican City

We got up this morning, early as usual, and headed to Vatican City. One of the boys commented on our outfits because we all had scarves and longer skirts on, he said we were so modest! It was warmer too which was a nice change that I could wear a skirt instead of pants. We had a really great tour of Vatican City and we even got in before the rest of the public and skipped some of the other lines as well. We saw the Sistine Chapel and the beautiful paintings of Michael Angelo. Everything has so much history and is so grand. After out tour we climbed to the top of the Basilica and got a breathtaking view of the city of Rome. We then took the tube to the Colosseum and Roman baths. This again was a very iconic place and it was hard for me to take in that I was really there. Rome is huge, so we were all exhausted and decided to go back to camp to relax and wash up before dinner. Dinner was delicious, in Italy they give us wine with our dinner… yummy! Tomorrow we are going to Venice with a stop in Verona.

Didn't you go to the sistine chapel back in middle school if I'm correct?? Great to see you had a great time!
